My recent trip to Tel Aviv was less of a religious pilgrimage than a foodie pilgrimage, thanks – in part – to the 2015 opening of Sarona Market, a gourmet paradise in the heart of the City. The Middle East may be a place where people hold on to tradition, but you’d never know that in Tel Aviv: the local craft beer scene is exploding, there’s a Bauhaus revival going on, and even regional staples like tahini can be found in dozens of flavours. After all, it is the year 5776 now, isn’t it?
